when did the last major maths standard syllabus happen (prior to 2019 overhaul)?
i need to know how many HSC papers are still relevant to us today?

Very far back that you don't need to worry. Every paper that you'll be able to find will essentially be from the previous syllabus.

One of my teachers gave us a 1916 HSC 4U maths question in an exam... so you’ll be able to go very far back. Some of the older topics you might not have learned - you can just leave those out.

Pre 2000s there was Maths in Society and Maths in Practice rather than the one “Standard/General” level so there will be a plethora of resources available.

The one for the current syllabus is 2018 onwards I believe, but I'm unsure when the previous one was before that
