Right, ive been doing past HSC papers, getting a range of marks between 70 and 95 out of 120. What sort of mark do i need to get a Band E4. Does anyone have a clue, I cant seem to find the board of studies giving me a clear indication, and being in a small school its hard to compare against others.

Sorry, but what's band E4 mean?
band E4 is the band higher than band E3, only able to get with Extension Maths.

It's basically equivilant to a band 6 in english but harder to get :p;)

Band E4 is the top band for any EXTENSION subject. This includes Extension Maths, English, History, French, Japanese etc
Band E4 is like band 6, where it covers a mark of 90 or above.

It's hard to say, as the difficulty of the papers can vary substantially. However, roughly speaking if you were to get 80/120 raw that will put you in band E4. Correct me if I'm wrong.

HSC varies from year to year, easier exams might require 90/120+ to score a 90+ HSC, others might require substantially less.
This year's will probably be hard, so aim to attempt all questions within sections 1-6

80/120 will easily put you in the top badn, the majority of the state get above band E3 and correct my if im wrong.... isnt that around 80-90? (prehaps 75-90 i dunno?)

hmmm from what i understand 60/120 is enough to get you pass band e3 and we take it from there.

It might not be what you meant but if low marks become high bands then that doesn't really indicate an easy exam.
