Whats an .ISO file??? (1 Viewer)

In common use, an "ISO" is a file that contains the complete image of a disc. Such files are often used when transferring CD-ROM images over the Internet. Depending on who you're talking to, "ISO" may refer to all disc image files or only certain kinds.

that means basicly if u have alot of data files on a cd for example a game . this just makes them into one file. kinda like when zipping a file.

Yep- think of it like a zip file as aforementioned... except imagine it's usually created by making a copy of an ENTIRE cd or dvd... and then to use it you usually have to burn it directly back onto a cd/dvd. Although there are programs like DaemonTools (google it) which will let you run it like a "virtual" cd/dvd drive.

yes u can use software called "DAEMON Tools" to run the file. it basicly makes a fake CD drive and lets you play then without actually having a CD in a real drive
