hi,

I keep hearing about marks being scaled down. I don't really care about it but am interested to know why. It seems kinda stupid.

If someone in your class does really well or tops the subject at your school and others or even one other person does poorly that person drags your mark down. Our teacher even gave examples of people in the past who got band 5 instead of band 6 because there mark was scaled down due to this.

I don't see the point of this?

Also i have heard from the carreers advisor that people who do there HSC at tafe get scaled down in comparasion with someone who does the HSC at school???

thanks

So, what ITimber is talking about is moderating?

Im also interested, because ive heard that if people in your class do poorly, your marks are dragged down. Is this true?

*sigh*, no point worrying about something you can't change or have no control over.

hey what if competition is really tight and liek the marks that differ between each rank was like ones and equal marks like equal 3rds and so on
then does rank really matter significantly if competition is that tight?
