If you look at the various international ranking systems for the past 5 years, Australian National University (ANU) has actually been consistently ranked the highest out of all Australian universities, except for two occasions. Along with Melbourne Uni its the most highly respected university internationally. So maybe you should consider it too? I'm planning on going there for Combined Law, it's regarded as the best law degree in Aust, and the ATAR cut-off is like wayyyy lower!

That's so misinformed, it's absolutely ridiculous. As Hungwell said, international rankings are based on research, and not undergraduate performance. I'm not going to speculate on which university has the best undergraduate law degree, but I can tell you it's not ANU (ok, fine, I speculated, sue me).

1. ANU LLB is not regarded as the best law degree
2. it is not the most highly respected australian uni internationally
3. rankings are usually based on research. undergraduate rankings are pretty subjective
4. dont go out of your way to goto ANU. relocating for ANU is stupid. internal tranfer into law is piss easy

I agree with this post....except the bolded bit. I dunno, I may be wrong here, but I feel as if UNSW internal transfer seems a bit easier than other unis (well, by other unis, I mean USyd). I could be wrong though, it's just based on the people I know at USyd who tried to transfer into Law, and couldn't. On the other hand, at UNSW, everyone that wanted to transfer in, did. Not sure whether that's a correlation/causation thing though.

he's right for unsw at least, unsw is pretty easy to transfer into law. if u got 97+ atar/uai u need 70+ wam, and if ur 95-97 then u need 75+ which isn't very hard compared to the 99.65 or whatever it is lol.

It does benefit your studies, if your lecturer is really smart and is doing some amazing research they probably know their stuff and will be a very effective teacher.

My Algebra lecturer - Michael Cowling - is a world expert in Fourier Analysis (or so I'm told). But... I'm not going to even hear about Fourier Analysis perhaps until post graduate studies - so for me right now, his 'expertness' is useless to me.

This is because UNSW actually sets a quota/reserve of about 100 students for internal transfer into Law each year.

UNSW, UNSYD, UTS or Macquaire Uni ? Which one should i pick? And which one will give me a better chance in employment?

Macquarie - it gives you the chance to do an internship as part of your degree. Having relevant work experience makes a big difference when trying to find jobs later.

From what I gathered from open days, UTS also has a similar internship program which is apart your degree. if i'm mistaken then can someone just make it clear

And also, at the USYD open day, the School of Business claimed they are the only uni (in nsw/australia?) whose dean, deputy's, and other heads of department all teach components of the undergrad course. again, if anyone can clarify please do
