I like pi, because it can be used everywhere.. eg area,volume,trig,graphs,complex numbers and many more.

Plus it also looks nice..

e, coz I hate having to change radians into degrees/switching to radian mode on my calculator when pi is involved

e is a number, not the inverse of a function (especially one whose definition relies on the definition of e :)). I guess the most intuitive way to 'discover' the number e is to consider the derivative of the functions 2^x and 3^x. You'll be left with some constant, < 1 and > 1 respectively, times your original function. So we reason there must be some number between 2 and 3, call it e, such that the function e^x leaves you with the constant 1 times your original function when you differentiate.

P.S. I cringe everytime someone calls it Euler's number.
