Which Subjects are the most expensive in terms of text books??
For example, the text books that you must buy when you do the subjects.
I know anatomy subjects texts are quite expensive...and some science subjects...
Is computing subjects expensive?? I was going to choose computing for my electives, but i haven't done computing since year 9. I might disadvantage myself. :(

Have a look here:

http://www.bookshop.unsw.edu.au/textlist.html

That's just a guide to all the recommended textbooks for each course. Of course you don't have to buy every textbook listed there, unless you're swimming in cash. Also there's a second hand bookshop too you can make use of.

No, first year comp is taught without any assumed prior programming experience.

Of course if you can program already, its a bonus.

OH MY GOSH!!! It'd cost me $797.60 if I were to buy all my required text books and course materials! I'm definitely not paying that much!

How will you know which of those recommended textbooks you need to buy, and those you can live without?

Psychology must be an expensive subject too. :(

Edit: Actually, I think it'd cost me $635.60. One of my items had a 2 under quantity, I don't know why. It was a pack. Hmmm...

Wait till first week, lecturers will say what books they use and whether they're really needed or not. Hunt around for second hand textbooks.

That, and the concepts of science (unlike, say, law and finance) actually exist in the tangible world. :p
