I wasn't even aware that there were so many editions. has anyone got the celebratory cinema release editions, basically they have a metallic spine.
I have the metallic one for philosopher's stone. I just bought whichever one was there and dont really care if my collection isnt consistent :D

also, my books 1-4 are paperback and the other two are hardback

US > UK kids > UK adult

If you get two adult books together you can make a childrens book.

i havent seen the adult version in real life but the cover of the adults book gave too much away, meaning that harry was definetly going to do potions and concluding from that, that snape would teach DADA and the new teacher would teach potions.

for some reason the cover didn't really give away much to me... but then i don't take things like that in.

The fact that a more adult seeming cover was required to help people around the fact that they're reading a young childrens book provides me with endless joy.

I bought the childrens UK one because it looks like the other ones I have. I like consistency^^
Agreed. I'm very picky with my books, no matter what series it is.

I am getting Harry Potter and the Half-Gangsta Bitch.

Nah lies...I already bought the one they sell in shops here...the one where Harry looks like an ugly gimp and Dumbledore looks like he's concentrating really hard on taking a dump. :(
