She co-wrote 2 songs- Sweet Sixteen and Inner Strength...
I was refering to songs that ppl know and where critiscing her lyrics e.g Why Not... making the point that those corny lyrics were not written by her

Im not bagging Hilary, I think her album is a good piece of pop. It sounds right at the moment...

I reckon Delta Goodrem could be classed as a Australian Teen Queen... not to mention she has talent

Oh, she co-wrote her songs? Like Avril 'co-wrote' her songs? Her producers even admitted that she had pretty much nothing to with writing the songs, and that her songwriting sucks. I have a sneaking suspicion Hilary is the same... but don't get me wrong, she's a lot better than many people floating around in the pop world, I just don't see her being a songwriting maestro. What about that line in 'So yesterday' that says 'If the light is off, then it isn't on'? Real deep...

And how the hell doesn't writing your own songs matter? Songs are supposed to communicate a message, and what's the point if it's a message that someone else wrote and you slapped your name onto?

Forgive me, but don't you think people who write their own songs have a lot more talent that people who don't? Don't you hold a lot more respect for people who actually know what they're singing about???
