Haha nice. What are you guys up to in Virgil and Livy?

For Livy my school's up to Chapter 40 and for Virgil around L750 and our whole class does extension too!

woah, your teacher must be proud! my teacher wished she could make more people do extension haha. we're a bit behind in the livy, but ahead of your school in Virgil. how many people are there in your class?

we have 6 people in continuers, only 2 are doing extension (and I'm not one of them LOL). we are like at 850ish for virgil, but only chapter 39 for livy. what kind of questions did you get asked in the half-yearly? Cause I haven't had mine yet

LOL wow 2 people. Well for Aeneid it was like translate passages from wherever, multiple choice grammar (and my teacher chose a few grammar points which weren't from Liz's workbook which sucked), contextual questions like what triggered Turnus to say these words and a question on techniques and characterisation. And for Livy it was translate passages and literary techniques. Oh and we have our unseen component next week because there wasn't enough time haha a

2 people is still more than last year, haha. I reckon I can ace the prepared/commentary/etc, because I know Livy and Virgil quite well. But I can't stand unseens. They are SOOOO hard

Yeah last year no one in our school did Latin at all.
Hhahahaa same you should see the extension unseens - they're harder and you have to answer questions about them too, so if your translation isn't right you're pretty screwed :'(

How do you even prepare for unseens? I've memorized the 1st page of the syllabus vocab, then I just cbf. I end up just using my guessing skills for half the passage.

We get like one every week to do as homework and our teacher marks them. Yeah we used to have like a period every cycle to learn vocab but that died..

How is everyone going in their progress in Latin? My class has pretty much finished Virgil now, but we're a bit behind in Livy (Chapter 41).
