Not exactly adv science, but adv maths, close enough. I'm not gonna bother making a new thread asking who's in that.

You wouldn't get many replies if you did :) There are only 10 places or so for that degree. It's indifferent to a maths major in BSc (Adv) though.

Hi LoneShadow

Are you majoring in physics? If so, me too! I guess I'll see you 'round. Have you thought about any areas of specialisation yet?

not too sure as to how many, but I know for sure like 80% of medical science students all try for grad med/dent

yeah thats true. but ive been told (at the info day by a med sci person) that there is no extra advantage in doing medical science.

most of my units wil be on the medical side of things. my major will be neuroscience which is available in med sc too so..........

i just thought that adv sci is more flexible so i can do units other than the more medical ones if i find them interesting.

You know for the medical side of things in advance science, do you need to know HSC biology? I did chem and physics, but not biology.

i dont think so. you can do biology fundamentals and that shud get you up to speed i think. it also depends what subjects you want ot do. like medical physics or whatever. i think pharmacology and biochemistry and stuff liek that need bio but fundamentals in 1st semester shud be enough

There's no Biology Fundamentals. But theres Concepts in biology which is done in summer semester 1 or something. Don't really get that.

I don't understand the structure of the third year. We have to select a major worth 12 cp and then 3 other areas worth 4 cp, however, I want to major in medicinal chemistry and all of the areas are worth 3 cp, except pharmacology. How does that work?
