hehehe already been to there, just that no one's saying that they are confident to get 50!

Look at it this way,

Everyone wants 50/50
People rarely get 50/50 (I could be wrong, in fact, I am wrong )

People who have worked hard for the 'entire' year, still wont get 50/50 (sorry, but the chances of getting 50 are ridiculous).

So, if you admit to 'aiming' for 50, that's fine.
But if you start claiming to have a '50/50' major work, then that's another issue.

See what I mean?
Person B: "I've done a lot of work, i've put in all the effort, but i'll be happy with 44 if i'm lucky"

Person A: "I think my major work is the best, so I'm going to get 50/50"

Now, when the results come back, person B might end up with 46 or 47 without even knowing it, whereas the one who is high and mighty with their 50/50 attitude, might end up getting 43 just for being 'overly' confident with their work and expectations.

The same can be applied to the UAI though,
Person B: "I've tried my best, so i'll be happy with 90.00"
Person A: "I'm the king of the world, 99.00 it is!"

HSC marks released
UAIs released

Person B: "96.55!!!!!! *over the moon*"
Person A: "Son of a ... only 87.50 WTF!"

You see my point, being too confident in Ext2 MW's might lead to a really, really huge fall and ego-collapse, whereas the quiet underachiever gets rewarded.

Having said that, I'm still aiming for a minimum of 35 (worse case scenario) and possibly 38 to 42, 43 as the best possible mark, because I don't think I deserve 45+ because my work isn't "the best" (unless the examiners disagree and assign 48, which would change my mind )

yes! I believe that the night before assessments task is the end of the world. I tend to be suicidal during those time!

No, ^ is the symbol for raising to a power, the exponent, the index,

2^2 = 4

there's a square root symbol on the keyboard (ascii) but i've forgotten the code, so i normally write "sqroot"
