No. Med Science does not equivalate to a research degree.
B. Science is more open and BScience = B Medical Science because you can do the exact subjects. At Macquarie the aonly difference is the name of the degree and that is all.
BScience is a shorter degree, once completed most people look for work. MedScience encourages students to take furtherstudies and in specialised fields.

UTS are offering MedScience/Engineering double degrees as of 2006.
