in the hsc they dont go and tick off every single damn outcome to give you a grade and a rank
they just mark the exam then align it so why are our reports on outcomes? whats there use?

i got an 81% in biology (without studying i straight out wouldve gotten 90% if i did) and im scared the bio teacher will give me less than that bc 'i havent fulfilled the outcomes that weigh more' like wtf
i hate this, bc then ill lose my rank (exam rank is 8th) and i dont wanna lose that

even last year i remember in yr 10 science i came 1st in AT1 and 2nd in the half yearly but my rank overall (in half yearly report) was 5th bc i didnt fulfil the outcomes that weigh more
but i didnt care last yr bc it was just yr 10 science like who actually gives a shit in yr 10 lmao

apparently if i get an 81% in year 11 AT1 that weighs 30% and have an exam rank of 8th it doesnt matter
because teachers write your reports (grades + ranks) based on how many outcomes from the syllabus you have done

for example module 1 bio says these are the outcomes:
depending on the school each of the following dot points has more 'grades' than the rest
regardless if i got an 81% in the exam if i havent fulfilled 3/3 of the outcomes my mark gets pulled down so does my rank

say the total of these outcomes at my school (depends on the school) is 40,
i got 34/42 on the test, doesnt matter bc if they align them w the outcomes i might get 30/40 hence they pull my grade and rank down

for me in year 11 and 12 I think it's just based on ur marks that determine ur rank but I remember last year my geography elective teacher gave me a B instead of an A despite me getting like 87% as my average mark because of the outcomes despite me ranking second and other people getting an A. It's so stupid

thats what i thought too but the other bio teacher (2 classes) said that we shouldnt be 'showing off' our marks bc each class's teacher will align them to outcomes and might get the mark either pulled up or down

schools always rank people based on assessment or exam marks, if the school doesn't it's probably a retarded school
