Q: Why is inverting a volumetric flask necessary? How does it increase the validity of the investigation?

The whole point of a standard solution is that it has a consistent concentration. Think about what would happen if it wasn't consistent --> every time you take some of the standard solution with the pipette it will have different concentration therefore that means your assumption that each titration trial was with the same amount of the standard solution is incorrect.

Inverting it ensures it mixes evenly so it has a uniform concentration
