Why does mq only allow students to do ONE major?
I've heard it's the only sydney uni that does this..
thanks.

Oh yeah, sorry guys, I was talking about economics. I wrongly assumed this was the case for all degrees.randomguy777 said:Depends on what degree you're doing, but looks like commerce/econ degrees have one major allowed for a 3yr degree. You'll have to do a double degree for 4 years to double major. Its like an arts generalist elective based degree. At UNSW comm/eco you could triple major in the 4 years timeframe!
I'm guessing you CAN do two majors, but it will just take longer. Maybe MQ requires you to do more units of something to consider it majored in compared to other universities? are you sure people can do a triple major in 4 years randomguy? I can't really see how someone could know enough about 3 different areas in 4 years. :/BackCountrySnow said:Oh yeah, sorry guys, I was talking about economics. So why does MQ only allow one economics major when doing a single degree??
I haven't found it in the handbook myself but:randomguy777 said:really? i've just looked at handbook for UWA and its confusing. It takes too long to work out whether it says you can major in 5 areas.
the degree is 4.5 years so its almost a law degree.(lol more like minors)
And what happened with that? Are you going to get 3 majors or something?Supra said:Mq does offer double majors. You have to consult with academic advisers (in the case for mine I met Bill Blair for Accounting and Finance)
2 majors. For 3 majors you need to be doing a double degree.jake2.0 said:And what happened with that? Are you going to get 3 majors or something?
