Will helping other guys in the same class from now on, have any negative impact on your UAI - if u are coming first in that subject? Say if ur coming first and you help all the other guys - by giving them ur notes n stuff- and they end up getting better marks than you, will it have any bad effect on my UAI . I know this is a stupid question and im pretty sure that it doesnt, but can anyone clear it up for me??

Help them as much as u possibly can. If they go better then u in the exam then u go better. You will get half your mark and half theirs. Ultimately you cant lose. Unless you are trying to get top of your school in which case u should sabotage.

No. It won't make you go bad. It's no longer students for themselves, it's schools vs. schools. The idea is to get as many marks from your school as you can.

So you're basically saying the system has been built so some poor kid who goes to a shoddy school, but has the brains and work ethic to get UAI of 90+ , can't because of all the other people in his grade? So someone who goes to a shit school is destined to do shit?

I don't believe that

no, that's not true
mr 'brains and work ethics to get UAI of 90+' will probably be ranked highly in all his subjects and get the mark he deserves if he performs just as well in his hsc. he just doesn't have a safety net as someone in a higher ranked school would. and if that doesn't make sense, there have been plenty of other threads that answer your question with better wording than mine.

no, that's not true at all. no matter what school you go to, if you can get really good marks in the subjects that you do, you can get the UAI that you deserve with those marks.

and plus, keep in mind one thing. i think this is fair in a way an unfair in a way. if you are overall ranked 1st in a subject, and someone in the hsc gets a better exam mark than you, you get their mark. srsly.

personally i think the system's fair because it rewards those
that worked hard all year... not just crammed a few weeks before

otherwise it would become a wrote-learning contest
which it kind of is already
