they'll probably get mad at you for not writing ur name but they will probably eb able to find out who you are anyways by ur handwriting and who they haven't marked. But it depends on ur school

i do all exams but math on laptop anyway since i was already doing that and I've got provs for the hsc... so they always know its me either way

I mean in my school they just let us write our names for now. But I think for prelims we'll have to write out nesa number

There’s also this whole time AFTER the exam where you sit there filling in your student ID and shi on the booklets. During this time, the invigilator is supposed to check them so you should be fine in HSC
