Hi,
I do the Studies of Religion 2 unit as an accelerated subject for Year 9 but I did not perform so well in my preliminary. I got a terrible rank and I am scared this will affect me. Will it count towards my early uni offer chances because I am choosing to do 12 or 13 units for my year 11 to make sure my SOR marks do not count? Also, what happens if I perform terribly in my HSC for SOR, will it count towards my atar? Does it do anything and again, will affect my early uni offers?

Yes, @Aeonium is correct in stating that two of your best English units will be calculated in your ATAR. Are you also doing SOR 1 as an accelerated unit? If not, then SOR 2 is technically 1 extra unit of study alongside the 1 unit course SOR 1, so if you keep all your other units in your senior years, then it may not count towards your ATAR. In terms of early entry for university, they would want to look at your performance across all of your subjects for preliminaries, not just SOR 2. So even if you don't perform so well in SOR 2, it shouldn't matter in the long run.
Hopefully that helps in some way!
