Winxp shutdown (1 Viewer)

1.I never use to get any shutdown messages, but now ( I reinstalled winxp) when I go to shutdown it gives me the screen saying "It's now safe to turn off your computer". When I try hit the power button on the case it just reboots (in BIOS it says that its suppose to shutdown ).

2.Also, I have Bigpond cable and the software is really being BS recently. It never connects from first go and I have to spend minutes playing around with it, clicking on connect about 10 times and waiting till it finally connects.

Any ideas?

Did you install the motherboard's chipset drivers?

Ok I've just installed them now from here:

It's the 4 in 1 driver.

The problem is still occuring.

hey i have VIA chipset too (km400), the hyperion pro version

just updated today to that latest version 5.07

OK I turned on the advanced power management feature and it's all good now!
