Wireless Internet (1 Viewer)

ok i would like to get some opinions here from ppl who have used or are experinced with wireless internet (eg:Burst, Unwired).. this is for a desktop PC, a maybe if anyone knows how reliable and syuch would be a great help and if the advertised speeds are reallly acheived

yeah i kinda have been to that site its excellent... but im not to sure about the actual speeds and reliablity

tbh, it seems like a waste of money if its going to be used just on a desktop.

It's a pity that more people don't know about that website. Telstra bigpond and Optus broadband would go broke.

Yup, I have a fixed wireless broadband service. We can't get ADSL (6km from exchange), and cable will never be available out here. Pings are great, usually under 60ms to local[ish] servers, and the speed is generally double what we pay for.

However, if there's a storm or something, the 'net goes down pretty easily. As for the customer service, it is second to none (even have a rep. on my MSN!).

As for iBurst and Unwired, find a decent provider (i.e. Agile), and you should have a fairly good experience.

until wimax comes out, wireless ISP's won't be any great.

but if it's your only option, i guess you have to go with it.

speeds are "ok" if you've got 1 computer. as soon as you put it on a network, you'll feel it.

yeah unwired is crap IMO. you get disconnected a lot and the download limit is crap.
