they're wireless

if you don't know any campus buildings its impossible to explain what they're "like" but unless you have a fascination with sitting on st pauls oval to send email, they should suffice

Charles Sturt University has a wireless network and we pay around 2c per MB.

But most university wireless networks are the same pretty much, they all pretty much use 802.11b/g which is built into most laptops.

What makes a wireless network great is if it is free, and you wont get that at most universities.

UNSW wireless is free for internal traffic and 2c/mb for external traffic. If you take any computing courses, you get around $12 on your wireless account for each one you take.

There are plenty of wireless hotspots, especially in locations where you'll mostlikely use it, but we need better reception on certain areas...*ahem library lawn*

Well how much is really "internal" traffic, hardly any.

Sydney is free for internal traffic (MyUni, WebCT, Blackboard and so on), whether you use the wireless network or the access lab computers. You also get ~42MB a week free external traffic, after which it's 2c/MB. No idea how the reception is.

I think Newcastle is free for everything? At least, I've never had to pay anything, and I've flogged it a few times now. The reception could be better in some places though.

UWS wireless is free, brilliant and reliable. You get incredible speeds.
