Would I be penalised harshly if I went over my word limit for my assessment?

They're 3 diary entries and are meant to be 300-500 words each (on Telling the Truth - Frontline), and atm, all together, they stand at 1869. :S

And I've only gone through it twice or so, but if I can't cut down anymore, would I be? Hope not. :(

Depends on your assessment policy..
In my old school you're okay to go over by 50 or before marks were deducted.

Btw, you can always cut down! You can do it!!

At my school the English department allow 10% over the word limit. So yes it would probably best to cut down, but it would also depend how strict the marking teacher is and your school's policies. To be on the safe side its probably worth cutting it down a little more (say 150 words) otherwise best of luck as it all depends on how strict the teacher\marking criteria is.

i was going to say footnote everything before i realised this wasn't history :D

def cut down but if you still have trouble, a little tweaking of the margins here and there should do the trick :)

Thanks guys!

Managed to cut it down to about 1689... Don't know if it makes sense anymore, because I took out the 'uneccessary' "that"'s and "the"'s.
We'll see! :p

hm.. might want to try to cut it down even further. Not that the marker would really sit there and count out all the words to make sure you didn't go over or anything, but they know the general length. So.. unless you're feelin' lucky... :p
