hey Im making tutoring advertisments... just simple black and white ones...

but I wanna know-

In word how do you make the writing go sideways...eg you know at the bottom how they have ripp offs of the number and its written vertically...

can anyone help me?

In Word, press Insert -> Text Box. Then, hit Delete (that gets rid of the box) and draw your box. Next, right click on an empty spot on the Formatting bar, and select "Text Box". In the toolbar that appears, press "Change Text Direction".
