Well even if it wont work, at least people are thinking of new radical ideas to stop global warming. Just a few days ago there was another idea in the news, about sending thousands of large rocks and satellites with mirrors up into space at a cost of 200 trillion dollars...

its possible, but i think u stated it wrong "if 600 million jumped at the same time" tats b.s nothing gonna happen.

if 600 million stood on each other and then jumped, thats 600 million time 60kg (average weight) then tat would have an effect.

I'm not quite believing that they managed to get nearly 200 million morons signed up to this.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's the stupidest thing I've heard this year!

For starters, global warming is only a theory - it hasn't been proven at all. In fact, in some places the evidence suggest the exact opposite is happening. Sure Antarctica has been melting recently, but did you know it had been expanding for a LONG time (ie a century or three) beforehand?
wait so you have no problem with the idea that lots of people jumping could shift the world out of orbit, but global warming, THATS ONLY A THEORY!!

Umm, no.

For starters 600 million people on top of each other would mean you'd have a twoer over 600 000 km tall in which there would be far less gravity from earth at the highest point.

Add to the fact that: "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" means that the initial push from the jump would force the earth (partially) away from you, and you away from the earth. The gravitational attraction would then attract you back to the earth and also attract the earth back towards you. Thereby meaning that the earth would actually end up right where you left it, approximately (with perhaps very very very very tiny shift outwards if you were jumping towards the sun).

I can't believe no one else realised this, especially you slide rule.

The argument ended there.

That's okay. It would kind of help with the overpopulation problem.

Assuming of course they are still capable of firing after China's bombed them in 3 seconds flat and the significant number of Chinese Americans working in the military have rebelled and taken control of all military operations.
