to the people hating on death metal... thats all well and good, i love it, but cant stand some DM vocalists, however after listening to it for a while most becomes pretty easy to understand. For that style of metal, there isn't any other sort of vocal delivery that is going to do it justice. I personally think that it is the best, most brutal form of music in around.

Black metal shrieking and screaming is worse btw... listen to some Burzum or (mainstream) Dimmu Borgir, and you'll get what I mean.

Death Metallers take themselves way too seriously though. Did you hear Slipknot at BDO this year? It was rebroadcast last night - the singer actually said "sing along like you got a fuckin heart...in your lungs!" That's just retarded.

Alot of my mates are trying to get me into metal, and I like some of it, but there's still heaps of it that just sounds like retards hitting things really hard.

nope. i remember hearing it .. she forgot like half the words in the verses so was just mumbling her way along and bs'ing the lyrics. it sucked.

Urgh...any of that crap stuff they try and call hip hop these days, it has no tune and is dead set boring! Although i adore R.E.M i have to say everybody hurts is my least favourite songs, its long and boring and it's ALWAYS played and it makes REM look bad.

i agree! i love everything by REM except the stupid everybody hurts. i hurt just from listening to it.
also Evanescence is extremely annoying. I think Amy Lees (or whatever it is) is awesome and has an incredibly voice, but the stuff she does is just so dull and teenage angsty it just makes me puke. an incredible waste of an incredible talent.
