What type of writing, like fiction?
If so there is the John Marsden Prize for Young Australian Writers, go to www.expressmedia.org.au/events.php and scroll down till you find it.

hmm i got an email today actually, about winning $2000 for an essay on Corporate Social Responsibility. how un-fun.

i've got no idea who sent it to me or how they got my email. it was from Student VIP Alert <info@studentservices.com.au>. i dont even remember giving any student services people my email :S

Yeah, Shell, that was the other comp I was thinking of, but I wasn't sure what type Stargaze wanted. "How un-fun" , I was going to enter! Lol!

LOL oh don't let me stop you! GO FOR GOLD!!! it could be fun. i learnt all about CSR in accounting last semester. it was ok i guess. i dunno how i'd go about writing a whole essay on it though.

Get a book called 'writing in australia, 2006ed.'. It has thousands of competitions for all sorts of writing, as well as contact details for most of the publications in australia.

i entered the CSR comp. what about the SMH Young Writer of the Year one? there's also something called Novella (i think). my friend entered it and she had to write like a whole book or something.
