Well mirakon and basically everyone else that is a uws boser probably has never heard of mx considering that its only a city newspaper for public transport. There is no mx at places like parra or campbelltown lol.

And mirakon, still proud of you :)
No we get the crazy religious guys handing out doomsday pamphlets to commuters at 5am at ctown.

Re: UWS Chatter Thread

No just the station.
Yep. When I used to live around C'town and I had to catch an early morning train anywhere, I'd be bashed with a bible lol, and you know that walk you do when you're tryin to avoid/dodge those who are trying to push you into purchasing/ believing in something? Well, I was never good at it... So I always ended up catching the train with a handful of rather interesting pamphlets to keep me occupied :D

It also happens a lot at Mt Druitt, I've ended up buying books several times lol (but only because they gave me the book to hold and look at, then convincingly said 'now, would you like to offer a small donation so more inspirational stories like this can be published?')... Damn my lack of An ability to say 'NO'

Re: UWS Chatter Thread

You just have to learn how to say 'no'.

For instance, I was walking with my friend who used to work at Hooters, around uni at O-Week. And it's O-Week... so there's like 97235892375892365892365 people giving out free stuff. And she just effortlessly said 'no' to every single person who tried to stop her and promote something or give free stuff.

And then I thought, "Hmm, I guess she learned that from being propositioned so many times at clubs."

it's a skill

(and a theory i'm testing)

Re: UWS Chatter Thread

lol why do you HAVE to point out that she worked at hooters? Couldn't you just say "friend"?

but yeah, you have to learn to say "no". My mate works at a pharmacy and he often gets people asking for prescription drugs without prescriptions and they do all types of stuff like begging to his better nature and getting emotional but you just have to say "no" because that is the best course of action.

I don't really have an issue with bible bashers. I don't actively try to avoid them, I found if I walk by normally then they don't really say anything most of the time. If they do come to me, I say I'm Muslim and they shirk away lol

Lol, no mx today damn it! :( I'm home, under my blankie cos I'm sick :( damn public transport. Haha we have people who try to give put bibles and religious pamphlets too so I usually just walk by and they don't say anything. But when the occasional one or two, I usually just say oh sorry I'm not interested thanks. And they just smile and say have a wonderful day.
