Because the writers want him to turn bad so he can go up against some of the faces(good guys) on Smackdown. Not enough quality bad guys means Cena doesn't have anyone to feud with except JBL so they're making Eddie go bad.

I havent watched wrestling since like 2002, but regulary since it was taken off free to air.
Used to watch WWF Superstars (Had awesome intro song, anyone know what it was 1999 approx)
and Monday Night Nitro WCW
Also used to watch WCW something back in 1994 when Vega was in it
