To all the Y11 members who are going on to the HSC, what were your marks like in the final exams? Even the Y12 people who remember their marks how did you go?

preliminary? I didn't study cuz i had to study for my maths HSC. 4 units of them accelerated

that was an excuse to my low marks

physics = 56%
chemistry = 40%
english = 10/25
SDD = 82%

bleh i could do so much better than that

for prelim exams, i went pretty well except for english....

math ext1 - 88% (highest 92%l)
math 2u - 100%!!!
eng(adv) - 22/45 (failed by half a mark :mad1: )
phys - 73%
eco - 69/80
sdd - 79% (top mark!)

Man don't worry I think everybody did badly in English in the State, I was marked hard I reckon.

English Adv: 57% 2nd
Maths 2U: 47% DOH
Economics: 96% top
Business: 94% top
History Mod: 93% top
IPT: 88% 2nd but I'm goin to drop it
SOR: 89% studied nothing and did well wooo hooo

in yearly exams i got:

2 unit Maths: 82%....2nd
IPT 79%....
English....69%...
Physics...71%
Business 91%
3 unit Maths...64%...2nd


Chem...67%...3rd

My final marks are:

2 unit Maths: 78%....2nd
IPT 88%....2nd
English....74%...probably 1st
Physics...75%...hopefully 1st
Business 86.6%...2nd
3 unit Maths...66%...2nd


Chem...83%...3rd

I think I have increased like 200% for my HSC assessment results in comparison to the prelim course

I remmember doing the 2 unit maths prelim without sleeping the night before........was watching the september 11 stuff the whole night

Some of these marks are real good but some are pretty...well...average. But Mona what are you talking about 83% in chemistry is really good...you must be one of those hypercompetitive people. So am I but. What schools do you guys go to?

concord high school.

starting after the HSC, i'll be the most hypercompetitive person in the school, spending hours and hours afterschool on only three subjects: english standard, chemistry and physics.

Hi...
i seriously don know if im doing well at Chem or not, b'cuz in da half yearlies we got an easy paper n in da yearlies our teacher removed some harder questions from the independent paper but yeah there were some very hard mole questions.
The other thing us dat 4 our oral presentation, he made it worth 20% though it was meant 2 be 5% as far as i know....
now this year,,, i have 2 work harder 2 do better......
n cuz of my teacher i am not happy with my result cuz i cant judge how i did...
in our class da highest mark was 90%...my twin sis got 81% n then da % droppeded 2 like as low as 68%....
n yeah...i go 2 wiley park Girls' High....its not very good i mean according 2 competition n stuff but i like competing,...

Well chemistry is supposed to be a tough subject and to not be going to a selective school that 83% is pretty outstanding. I mean our schools top mark was only 88% and that guy studied like a freak. Personally I don't like science but I'm sure if you score that in the HSC then you are set. Your teacher must be pretty good if you got that or maybe you just studied and did it by yourself. But let it be known that chem teachers don't have a big rep as the best teachers!

86% in Physics is pretty good, my friend topped it here and got 80%and he studies like a freak in it. Maybe our tests are hard, i don't know cos I don't do any sciences.

But yeah your marks are all good except 3U Maths and English. Looks like your headed for the honour role though. What school you go to?

oh yeah and most schools do buy exams and change them a bit so that way you get an idea of what other schools are testing and its more centralised

physics - 48 (but i did end up passing)

its pretty hard to say if its good or not cuz each school does have their own standard of exams... but personally i reckon i did pretty bad
