hi everyone, im currently in year 11 and i am doing Adv and Ext1 english, im just wondering if the year 11 stuff has any relevance to what we do in HSC and does year 11 count to our HSC mark? thanks

well, for adv eng, yr 11 stuff has some relevance where the skills u learn from analysing different text types will greatly benefit u in yr12...so the texts themselves dont matter - its the skills u learn from studying them....also preliminary marks dont count for the HSC

well im in yr11 and im finding it pretty easy haha

for us yr11 was pretty much the same as the HSC but different texts. We did critical study, comparison of 2 texts, journey and images of men. What were doing now is almost the same but different texts and more in depth analysis. but the skills you learn in yr11 are very useful for the HSC.

yr 11 is mostly preparing urself for the big league, ie- the HSC. what u need to do is to pick up new techniques, ways of writting. i think u will notice the change in ur style becoz of ext1 when u start yr 12.

take the inclass tasks seriously, even if they dont count. its all about practice for yr12 exams

Sorry Rahul but your wrong.

Remember the whole Enders Game thing we had to do in the exam.

In the HSC, you can be asked anything from both Year 11 and 12. But mostly year 12 - year 11 is then seen as general knowledge.

But remember, keep in mind all you learn in year 11.

dude ender's game was part of our hsc year....we started yr 12 in term 4 last yr. the texts like taming of the shrew, frankenstein, heart of darkness, etc will not have anythign to do wid our hsc.

learn skills in yr 11 but u dont need any knowledge of any texts in terms 1- 3 in yr 11
