If you are doing accountancy in TAFE as part of your HSC you do what is called a category A exam at the end of year 11. Your HSC mark is based mostly on your result in this exam in year 11

Most people don't know this. I don't know if this applies to other TAFE based subjects

^^^ nash its chemistry that our teacher sayss counts. he was like 5 percent of ur year 11 assesment counts for year 12, normally we dont tell u coz itz not that big

5% of yr 11 counts to yr12 doesnt sound right, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt try in yr 11!!

the best way to kno smthng bout the hsc is to learn from the experiences and knowledge of past hsc students like us rather than teachers and blah blah cos they want to scare u and stuff....like get a tutor who already went thru the horror and stuff.....n e way, nothing in yr11 counts towards the hsc (yr12) [besides basic knowledge like one plus one b4 u can learn algebra etc] so that's y i tell younger ppl have fun while u can!!!!!!!!!!! WISH i was told this..........

edit:
marks and ranking starts ALL over again, but yr10 counts.....not the school certificate marks but the number of ppl doing it
