So I'm starting to deliberate as to whether I should drop Business Studies or Modern History. Business Studies bores me to tears, but I am going pretty well. Modern History on the other hand, I love. Thing is, I'm not all that good at it.

I'd do Business for next year, it's just a lot of people have told me that it doesn't scale too well. And I don't like my teacher (may have a new one next year though, as she looks to be going overseas).

By the way, does any of year 11 count towards your ATAR? Because my marks in physics haven't been all that great this semester — kind of been arsing around / not giving a s**t. Some of my teachers say they do, and that marks from this years finals will be carried over (especially for english), whereas other say that they do not.

Thanks.

As far as I know, nothing from the prelims go to your ATAR. As for dropping a subject, I wouldn't have a clue what you should do, I dont do either of those subjects.

This. Also, even though Business Studies does not scale well, do it if you're good at it!
But the OP hates it - and thus should drop it if he or she feels it's a waste of time. And if the extra time he or she will get from dropping it will mean she'll put more effort to Modern History.

Or try to develop some motivation or enjoyment for Business Studies! Pick whichever subject that you are 100% sure to get better in or whichever subject you need more! (So be realistic)

I do business studies too. T'is truly a bludgey subject.
I have literally done nothing all year and i'm maintaining a mark of high 80's +pretty decent ranks.

I reckon you should do what you're good at with minimal effort so you can focus on your other subjects
