and what do actually have to do ???

Preliminary is just basically Year 11.

the preliminary course is basically the year 11 course. u will have a set of exams at the end of year 11 to complete the course

You just have to be satisfactory in all your subjects to pass, and the marks don't count for your HSC, but what you learn is a basis for what is to come in Yr 12.
Yr 11 is just preparation for your HSC, like the assignments and the exams in particular.
Think of it like a mini HSC, just easier and with the fact that your marks don't count; just be satisfactory.

Well in ur lil profile, it says HSC: 2010..meaning u should be in year 10 this year...
