Hey,

I have posted here before but now i've gotten all my trials and all my post trial assessment marks back. These are my final cumulative school assessment marks.

School: Fort Street High School (I think we rank 15th/16th in the state)

English Advanced (2): 95/100 Rank: 5/163
English Extension (1): 42/50 Rank: ~20/90
Ancient History (2): 93/100 Rank: ~4/50
Modern History (2): 94/100 Rank: 2/38
History Extension (1): 47/50 Rank: 3/17
Software Design and Development (2): 83/100 Rank: 4/9
Mathematics Advanced (2): 78/100 Rank: ~40/~130

Some of the ranks are estimates, where they are they would be within 1 or 2 ranks.

Two questions:

(1) What UAI do you think these assessment marks constitute? I have tried punching them into SAM / others, but I figure without knowing how scaling works or aligning it's not that accurate. I need a UAI of 98 for BA Media/Comm @ Sydney Uni, and I have no idea if these marks are on track for that.

From my school in 2003, we had 16 students get 99.xx, if that is of any help (i'm fairly certain i'm in the top 20 overall students at my school but this doesn't mean much to me really).

(2) Since I do 12 units, will it be SDD or Maths that don't count? I want to not study for one of them for the HSC to free up time for other subjects, but i'm not sure (after scaling/aligning) which of the two will be the lower.

Thanks for any estimations/predictions/advice.

Is that despite the fact that Maths usually scales better than SDD, which according to what i've been told scales horribly?

Ryan: Ms Mcdonald has a sheet with the trials ranks, and I was 5th, and I would have maintained that with my other assessments (2 15/15s and 3 14/15s).
