for pop the 80s were the best, early 90s too....for rock itd be 70's...the 00's have sucked really...no songs have come out that id say "classic" when i hear them in the future...it also seems nowadays that if a song is a month old...it is deemed as outta date and old...even tho the australian radio stations play the song months late haha...like i heard "my love - justin timberlake" on the radio yesterday...i downloaded that about 3-4 weeks ago haha

I don't think a list of the greatest artists of the 60's without the Beatles in it can hold much credibility.

Their 60's work, especially Rubber Soul and Revolver are their best work in my opinion and are arguably two of the most influential records of all time.

80's
Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion (at their prime), Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Descendents. And Op. Ivy can go in there as well. Actually I'd go with the period between 1980-1995. Not that that's any use, but it was the gap betweed Fresh Fruit and And out come the wolves, and those two albums are great.

i cant choose, but this decade is a very exciting time for music with the internet, home recording, etc.
somewhat of a diy revival...
there is never going to be another world-conquering band like the beatles. not even as big as zeppelin. so if you judge a decade on its icons, the 60s will probably be the best decade forever.

The 90s. Hip Hop, though the late 80s were really important for the genre 'cause it's when a lot of the artists were developing their art.

a truly important decade for australian rock `n` roll! *sigh*

OSs there was A LOT going on; more so than other previous decades, the musical trends of the 1970s (particularly the mid-late 70s) is evident in the progression of trends in the 80s. the 80s was no mere reaction to the 70s (in comparison to the reaction made against psychedelia and folk in the late 60s)- it grew from it.

It's a good album, but a fairly standard fare in terms of shoegazing. It doesn't jump out at me as much as other releases in the genre.

I only listen to bits and piece of each era. I'll go with 2000 since I've only started listening to music relatively recently and favour this era.

But I've heard others describe it as a classic, so...

It's rather pop-ish compared to the likes of Loveless. It's a fine album.

Though I like Pygmalion more.
