5. Jet Force Gemini - Probably a little known game on the N64, this game came out near the end of the 64's lifespan but really pushed what to expect from adventure games. Massive landscapes, great character designs, and a robo-dog with rocket launchers.

I'm glad someone mentioned Jet Force Gemini - that was a great game. Lupus the cyber dog <3. Another great aspect (at least what I found from that game) was the atmospheric music. I'm not usually into remakes, but if Rare remade that game (same levels, preferably with even more levels, same music etc), i'd buy it again.

Just by the by, this is a list of personal favourites and isn't graded on quality per se (I'll happily concede that some of my higher ranked favourites are weird choices) but on the amount that I enjoyed and played each game.

I also hate the Final Fantasy series and I think that out of all Square/Enix franchies including Chronotrigger, Dragonquest, Secret of Mana & Star Ocean the Final Fantasy games are pretty much at the bottom of the barrel, FFX being a notable exception. The random combat disrupts the pace of exploration and is just a left over trope from when the developers decided not to render monsters in the game world on the PS1 either because of hardware limitations or sheer laziness. It took until FFXII for them to realise what an awful game mechanic random combat was.

Also, I'm still waiting to play Shadow of the Colossus, Animal Crossing, Time Splitters 2, Psychonauts, Dark Chronicle and a few other good 6th generation games all the way through, so my list will probably change pretty dramatically in a few months.

<html>This is such a hard choice, but in terms of overall enjoyment-

1) The Elder Scrolls III- Morrowind-PC- Never will a game touch my heart as deep as this did. I was actually a popular kid in year 9, but slowly I faded into the background of social interaction because I had a much greater calling. Who else can think of a better way to spend a winter's morning? I'd start a new character, preferably a Breton Mage and swiftly move out of Seyda Neen to Balmora. Within a few hours I'd have acquired the essentials- the Boots of Blinding Speed, The Cuirass of Savior’s Hide...Ah the music, the memories. The mods.
2) Pokemon Red and Crystal- GB- The hours spent sailing up and down Cinnabar Island cloning master balls and red candy will never be forgotten. I liked the new map which Gold/Silver introduced, and Crystal rocked as it introduced both sets of new pokemon.
3) GTA Vice City-PS2- Epic. I just loved the business ownership aspect, collecting hidden packages, the Scar Face based mansion, the music, the sun...
4) GTA 3/GTA San Andreas-PS2- My first PS2 game, introduced me to 'Liberty City'. I'll still never forget my excitement doing the first mission for Luigi or learning to fly the Dodo plane over to the invisible 'Carson City'. San Andrea's just rated well really for the breadth of what you could do.
5) Metal Gear Solid- PS- Addictive shit, just the interactiveness and the depth of the story was amazing for it's time. Still never forget crawling through the snow at Shadow Moses trying to dodge Sniper Wolf.
6) Tomb Raider- PS- An amazing game seriously began my interest in history/archaeology. Lara was a very hot girl (Tomb Raider Anniversary isn’t bad either).
7) Tomb Raider II/III/IV- All great.
8) Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis- PC- Awesome game, seems funny now, but at the time it was the best. Just the puzzles etc, especially in Crete. Epic.
9) Gran Turismo- PC- Those license tests were frustrating, but damn how fun was it modding all the cars to max horsepower etc
10)- Guild Wars- PC- Awesome game, graphics, free to play; I still have my level 20 W/Mo and don't mind the occasional rune farming outside Lions Arch
11)- Sim City Series- Fan since I was in primary school. Loved the jazzy soundtrack and just the challenge of taking different approaches etc so fun, particularly Sim city 4. Please Maxis make Sim City 5
12)- Metal Gear Solid 4- PS3- Played it recently. Although short, wow.
13)- Half-life 2- Don't really need to comment here.
14)- Counter Strike Source- I own at deathwatch particularly at de_assault.
15)- Elder Scrolls 4- Oblivion- Yeah it was fun and all, perfect graphics, but let me down in many ways.-
16)- GTA 4- PS3- I had super high expectations, and whilst graphics rocked, the limited stuff to do sucked arse compared to previous titles.
17)- Red Faction- Physics were top notch in its day.
18)- Tony Hawk Series, particularly # 2- PS/PS2- Always fun
19)- Kelly Slater's Pro surfer-PS2- Fun music etc, little unrealistic but still best surf game made yet
20)- Rise of Nations- PC- Loved it, especially the idea of the different 'ages'.
21)- Age of Empires III- Found it fun, for a short while.
22)- Rome: Total War- as above.
23)- The Sims 2- Yea it was fun, but i get over it. Plus buying expansions all the time sucks.
24)- F.E.A.R.- PC- Fun game, but never replayed it.
25)- Original SPYRO and Crash Bandicoot- Great fun, but yea i was young. Except, I must say, Crash Team Racing was the BEST.</html>

Also an old PS game called Syphon Filter. Forgot about this, but yea was very fun. Any1 remember it?
