I know, its really gay.
Improvements compared to unimail, mainly the storage capacity of 10gigs, compared to the previous 20mb.
We got an info sheet about it on our first day of math1231 summer sesh, apparantly we (summer sesh pplz) were gonna be the first to use this new mail thingo.
I havnt set mine up yet.. u can still forward to ur regular mail apparantly, but i cbf'd setting it up.
Says on the sheet that:
After your zMail account has been activated you will continue to have access to your Unimail account until the end of 2009 to enable you to forward those emails you wish to retain to your zMail account, instructions will be provided on the website to help you do this.
Oh, i just noticed, it ALSO says:
Note: students who currently choose not to use Unimail and redirect their current UNSW email to some other mail service such as Gmail or Hotmail will not be impacted by the introduction of zMail as IT REPLACES UNIMAIL ONLY
I forward all unimail shit to my gmail, so i dont gotta worry, awesome! =)
other random info on the info sheet:
- zmail account will exist 4 lyf, as long as u maintain association with uni either as student or alumni
- zmail account managed by uni and hosted by microsoft (usa) at the "live@edu" site (shit)
