well with all of we've counted generally from the first kiss....though with my current one neither of us really considered the other as their bf/gf for a few weeks (me longer than him), but its an easy date to count from rather than some random date

Its at some point where you both feel the same about each other. Its hard to define it from a first kiss/sex stand point because these may mean nothing to the other person. If i hooked up with somebody at a party it probably won't mean that we are now straight away BF/GF because of that act. So that you become sombody's BF/GF when you both feel the same way, which may result in a 'So are we in a relationship?' kind of conversation. Many people at my (former, now i guess) school take a first date to be the start of a relationship.

That's ambiguous, though. What if we're dating people outside of the two person system? Those statements could still be perfectly legitimate.
