i have both, to be honest i liek the format of the new one, but i prefer the old cause its easier for me to understand, don't ask me why it just is for me, it has become my chem bible.

i know this sounds horrible but thats good to hear, cause i see you do cosmology and did accelerated maths and all the really like super smart people on here seem to have endless textbooks and go to tutors and lectures and i was always under the impression the kids with all the resources are the only ones that get like state rankings and stuff. as i do not have endless money to spend on books.

na waste of money i think its like $55. I think making your own dot point notes using Conquering Chemistry + your school notes and then using Success One HSC papers is better than dot point. Some of the answers in Success One are an excellent indication of band 6 answers and some are not so great.

^it was 43 dollars at borders and since borders don't do discount, i am pretty sure it's like 40-43 dollars.

@kevda1st: it's okay. dot-point is not too bad, but i hardly use it. Just buy another textbook..

Diff between old and new excel , new excel:
  1. More expensive
  2. Looks more fancy
  3. Thicker
That's all I can notice.

I would just buy more textbooks.

@Kaatie: I do cosmo and accelerated in 2 unit and 3 unit myself and from what I see, we aren't that good. (at least, I am not).
I am very simliar to timmy. I don't have any tutor, get any extra lectures ande etc. You don't need that. But unlike him, I do have a pile of textbooks (5+) for each subject, hm...

yea i dunno if its the same for chem(because i dnt have the new chem excel book) but in the physics one, the old and new one has the exactly same info in it word for word. the new excel just has a column on the side of the page to right on with the dot point above it.

O.O are you kidding me?

So they are charging like extra 10 dollars just for extra few pages and space?

That's a rip-off.

I looked around to SOR I+II one, and that one is little bit different though I think (it has more pictures now, little bit organised)

old one was just terrible.
I found the questions they asked to be useful but that's about it.

New excel is awesome, highly recommended.
