ok. I use my ipod with bass booster enabled anyway, without it music just sounds...empty, lol.

Treble over Bass doesn't make it sound better, or produce higher quality sound...
The pair of speakers in the headphones having perfect (or as close as possibe) even tones (ballance between high, treble and bass frequencies) creates the best listening experience. Then you can customise how your music will sound using different settings whithin your music playing device (ie, graphic equalizer or music type settings).

If you amp up the treble, you sometimes get a bit of a scratchy sound in the headphones, or some unpleasent frequencies are exaggerated creating a harsh, "sharp" sound.

I listen loud on trains, so after about half a year the sound quality gets fucked, ive gone thru 3 ipod headfones now.

What are clip-on headfones like? Sound quality? Ease of use? Portability? Annoyance during use (if any)? -compared to regular ipod headfones, which i currently use.

if you listen loud, consider getting a pair of closed headphones, as clip-ons leak sound like a bitch. also clip ons i find pretty uncomfortable, mainly because they feel looser in comparison to conventional earphones.

what you have got to be kidding me i wouldn't give them to my grandmother to listen to.

so far i've been through two pairs of MDR-G42LP headphones- first pair I stuffed up by accidentally cutting through the wire and the second pair by holding the ear speaker to a microphone, how stupid of me. Have to say they were really great for the money and had plenty of bass which I liked.

now i'm on sennheiser PXC 250's

Shure = The industry standard in theatre/recording applications.

The Ipod earphones are good for general use, but in no way are they the best on the market lol.

Well, Phillips and Sony both do great external and closed headphones that aren't too large, and I know that Sony do some really good behind-the-head external headphones. Both are pretty reasonably priced compared to the other specialist brands.

Just look around at your local JB Hi-Fi or such and you'll find what you need.

just bought the Sennheiser CX300-II. sick of listening to music my gay little shuffle and my short sony ericsson phone in ear headphones at work...cant tell what song i am listening to/put it on repeat/etc.

I'm looking for a new pair to replace my dead 6 year-old sony in-ear's - how much is the alessandro?
Are the sony EX-monitor earphones any good? (note I'm not an audiophile so I probably wouldn't even notice the difference)
