I was looking around MacLaurin Hall for my mentor but was told that he was late. Pretty good - the games of speed dating to know people and campus tours were really fantastic.

Hey guys, I wrote an email to my mentorees with a list of websites they might need. Thought I'd post it here for you guys as well. Although you should know most of this stuff is you're on BoS. So, heavily editted for your viewing pleasure

2. The Co-op Online Bookshop
Here you can check your book lists for your classes. Just go to "search" and click "text list search", follow the instructions and your booklist with pricing should come up. Also, if you haven't done so, remember to join Co-op's membership. It's only 20$ for a lifetime and you get 10% off each book.

3. University Copy Centre
This website is for you to buy your readers (which you must buy for tutorials) online if you don't want to wait in the line during uni hours. You can pay with credit card or an alternative uni account called an "extro account". You can also have the readers mailed to your house (might cost extra?) or you can pick them up at the Copy centre store without waiting in line! Yay! Just remember to bring your receipt!! Oh and you can check whether your readers are available on the website as well.

4. Second hand textbooks: Textbook Exchange
This website is for second hand textbooks you buy off other students. It's pretty good and usually has most books you'll need. More books appear closer to when semester starts by the way. Also, you can pay via credit card and have the books mailed to you or you can meet the person on campus for an exchange (which I personally prefer). I don't have previous experience with this website but my friends have used it and it's pretty good. Plus you're saving a bunch of moeny!

5. Services for students
It's basically the student support website that assist with practically everything (accommodation, work, health, welfare, finances, admin, couselling).
Student services also have a Learning Centre (it's in the education building, right next to Manning where we had lunch), they provide classes for you if you ever have trouble writing your essays.

Also, I sort of breezed over this but in Holme building (the very pretty, Jane Austen inspired one with murals on the wall) is the home to QueerSpace if you or your friends ever need people to talk and relate to about sexual identity etc. Find the rainbow bulletin board and walk behind it, follow the stairs down.

Signed up for this due to the people running up and down between the tables yelling "RED FORMS! Don't forget to complete your red forms!". Okay, so they weren't running, or yelling, but they were pretty insistent. It looks alright though, I thought I might as well give it a go since I won't know anyone or where anything is. :/

Alrighty, so I just registered for this online! I didn't consider giving the form in when I enrolled a week ago because I thought I would be too lazy to go to the 'Welcome Day' and other events ):

I hope I at least make some friends (':

Did everyone get the letter regarding what group they're in? Anyone else in the red group by any chance? Are people still even going to this? :uhoh:
