Does anyone know what last years State Ranking mark for phys was?
Yeah thats what I thought but I started hearing weird things like 95+ being a state rank and I was like wth.I'm guessing it was 97+ to get a State rank (I could be wrong)
96 raw? isn't that a bit high? phys is like pretty demanding haha97 aligned
probably 96 raw?
So a 96 raw could get you in the top 20 of the state?not rly; the exam is easy enough that 10 ppl woud get 96+ i think
Depends on the paper. So a 96 raw could get you in the top 20 of the state?
Wow and I guess that would be similar for chem? Thats like losing 1-3 marks in the entire examDepends on the paper.
Top mark for Physics has been usually around 98-99. I personally know that my past school colleague got 98 and came first in the state.
I reckon 94 (if lucky) -95 raw would get you a state rank (i.e. top 20)
EDIT: It was 2004 that my school colleague topped the state. In that year, Laurie Fields came 3rd in Physics and he got 97 (aligned). Considering that aligned is usually higher than raw. I think it's quite safe to say that the top mark in the state would have been around 97 raw...
so I reckon top in the state = 97-98 raw
top 10 in the state = minimum 96 raw
top 20 in the state = minimum 94-95 raw
Last year's chem exam was considered relatively easy. To state rank, 98 would have been the minimum requirement.Wow and I guess that would be similar for chem? Thats like losing 1-3 marks in the entire exam
wow extreme! 98 seems hard.. ahh well...Depends on the paper.

im not so sure about that aligned to 100 because Jack Dwyer got 98 in chem when he topped the state. Then again, the ones who topped the state got 100.wow extreme! 98 seems hard.. ahh well...
Another Question lets say if you get 98 raw, will it be aligned to 100? or will it be scaled to 100? (if it's first in state). Also I've heard that if you get a state rank it helps to boost your UAI or something by a very small amount.. 0.05-0.10 or something?
And is it true that if you're first in state for any course, you will be scaled to 100 automatically for that subject?
and there goes your 100 scaledWell I have heard that you need to get 100 raw to get 100 aligned...but this may be completely false because presumably someone who topped the state in 4 unit got 100 aligned despite the fact that he/she didn't get 100% raw.
However, if you do come first in the state, you will get 100 scaled for non-capped subjects regardless of what you get as your aligned mark.
don't remind me loland there goes your 100 scaled
lol I'm sure you could get it again this yeardon't remind me lol
i reckon chem state rank (top 20) was 95+
phys there are only 10 state ranks - so 96+ imo
