Is it hard? more specifically with a Law degree? how difficult would it be to get a job? I know with some courses there is graduate recruitment (nursing, teaching etc) but what about law, medicine etc?

From what I gathered the standard road to law is doing a vacational clerkship during the 4th or 5th yr of uni, then the firm will promise you a position after you graduate, and done.

No one is going to give a sure answer as it depends on you as a person.

A law degree is pretty good, yes.

But I can tell you right now that if you graduate during this shitty recession, you will have a hard fucking time as I (and many others) are doing right now.

Your question is as vague and unanswerable as "If I Were To Sleep With My Partner While I'm Ovulating, Will I Conceive?"

my older brother graduates this year, a law degree definitely helps

for com/law guys apparently they are fighting over big4 accounting firms this year, because the investment banks and law firms have cut down heaps. Also some of the hardcore HD average commerce guys who are only applying for buisness type jobs are fighitng over the big4 as well because they couldnt get into investment banks or management consulting... so the pure comm guys are... fucked

edit: unless they too have a hd avg and have 1st class hons or something

Cool. Apparently apparently. Apparently!

Less speculating, more Year 11 study!

Have a single run-of-the-mill B.Com, and I have progressed through with a few of the major banks. Not even from a G08 either.

The things is, yes it's damn hard to get a job in these times. But personality and showing a real interest in the position/company are the more important factors once you get past the Psych testing.

But, whatevs.

as a general rule, in this recession its gonna be hard for graduates to find jobs straight out of uni as businesses are looking to hire more experienced workers (5 years + in the industry) and thats even if they are hiring at all.

and the companies that still have intake graduate are going to reduce the no. of new workers , and competition will therefore skyrocket for these positions.
