I've spent the entire night (when not procrastinationg) trying to skim through some of the readings, find others and getting a general idea of my topic. NO SUCH LUCK. What a waste...

How many words so far?

Well at least you've got your points down, now it's just the matter of putting it together in a cohesive matter. All you need is a pass so go for it! It may be descriptive or whatever but at least it's a finished essay.

omfg i totally forgot about the controversy part. hmm ...
Are we suppose to argue both sides when we 'critically evaluate'?

yep, we have to present both sides of the argument, and argue which side we are taking.

my topic doesnt have any controversy though, all i can think of is "do false confessions exist?" except there isnt any conflicting evidence.

in conclusion, FML
surely there'd be some controversy over how common they are or something though?

Could you explore the conflicting reasons/motives (if any) behind false confessions?

Holy crap, 20000 words?!?!

EDIT: ok i just re-read your question - the focus is on laboratory and field research so maybe something about how to measure/identify the motives? ... omg just ignore me, i'm going nowhere with this !

Argue the ethics of having a legal system which essentially encourages false confessions (i.e. through plea bargaining)?

Do you want actual infringements or crazy fringe shit?

- Compulsory voting.
- Seatbelts.
- Drugs.
- Taxation.
- Firearm licensing.
- Public indecency laws.
- The inability to consent to GBH.

that's great, thanks. I'm writing about the harm principle and trying to test it out against some extreme examples. Have you got some crazier stuff?
