I'm on Optus' $59 cap which gets me $330 worth of Calls to anyone, $350 calls to Optus, 700MB Data and unlimited text messages... with a $14 a month handset repayment. So over 2 years you're looking at like $1700.
I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 32GB, but not sure which is the right cap for me.

Teclis: Just wondering, how much data on average would you use in a month?

I currently use prepaid, and go through $30 credit in about 2-3 months, so I don't make many calls or SMS's.

I'm thinking the $19 cap (optus) will be sufficient coz it comes with $50 calls and 100 MB data. I have 2 questions:

1. If I used the net and apps a fair bit, would I be likely to go over my data limit?
2. Can you change your cap within the 24 month contract period?

1. Yes... 100 MB is pretty much nothing.
2. I don't think so...
