say for example..

is that to one sig fig? two? three? four?

for 3000, that's one significant figure

for 0.0003 that's one significant figure too

0.0506 is three s.f.

3040 is three s.f.

im pretty sure but someone correct me if i'm wrong

so to answer your question, trailing zeroes are not significant

They are certainly significant if after the decimal place

eg 0.3 ---> 1 sig fig
0.30--->2 sig figs
0.3000-->4 sig figs
