Craven: I'm not necessarily sure its a demotion, is it?

We now have Michele Tidyman. Pretty sure she said she was from da West.

Is WA region 1? She was HR specialist in R1, A11.

I know that name. I just don't know from where.

Okay, so she wouldn't have been HR spesh in my area.

WAIT, I got it. Her name is still on the back of our toilet doors on the ad encouraging us to become bakery apprentices.

Just to go back to the SCO discussion:

I suppose it's different at all stores but -

- we have the silver key with us in the service desk all the time.
- the attendant can leave the SCO area eg. usually to serve smokes
- if it's busy the SCO attendant is the first one to go on registers leaving the supervisor to do smoke shop and self serve. This can be very hard when it's busy
- if you aren't allowed to open the SCO's then how do you put the change in each morning?

yes we were told in training that there must be someone at self serve all the time and they can't leave but this never happens.
omg SS-Champion! if head office ever found out about what you guys do you'd be screwed!! :O
in our store:
1. The silver key DOES NOT stay at service desk - must go back to cash office and be collected at end of trade.
2. we are not allowed to leave SCO area AT ALL, no exceptions at all. (we are not even allowed to take baskets back to the entrance, which is like 10m away)
3. our SCO attendants are specifically rostered for SCO shifts and only do that job, supervisors dont run SCO unless it is absolutely necessary (ie. have to go to toilet, no one to cover breaks etc.)
4. the cash parts of the machine (accessed with silver key) can not be opened during trade. if they need to be opened (for change order/fix the machine) it must be done in the presence of the DM (i think its DM/SM/SSM).

SSS to SM is a promotion. All specialists are equal to STMs.
Never knew this.

Hey when our ordered shirts come in how do we know they have arrived? Will we be given them or do we get told to go collect then or do we just keep asking the cash office if they have arrived yet?
Btw us it the cash office they go to?
I think it's different per store, you should ask. Ours go to the backdoor and are distributed from there.

Nice. I think I like her. She's friendly and asks nicely for me to do a basket run, not meanly. By Googling the names of various ex-SM's and SSS' i managed to find a big break-down of all SM's and important Area Office people for my area and neighbouring two. Can track the movements of all the SM's.

Do you mean the area Store Services Specialists? I would have thought an area job -> store ops job would be a demotion...
Not necessarily. SM's you get the car and everything if you want it. Actually wait, I haven't seen any of them with a car recently, is that still the go?

Certainly is. I went for a sweet-as ride in our store managers car on Saturday. Except it wasn't sweet, coz it was our SSM taking me to the hospital.

Nice car but. Shame I don't have a manual licence.

link pls? I know how you found it but don't know many ex-SMs.
Unless you want a link to the two Tasmanian areas and two Melbourne ones I won't bother. They were PDFs and only four areas to a page. Just googz ur current SM with 'woolworths'

you have no fucking idea. I swear the latest one was nowhere near my fault though.

On the upside, my SSM now has someone to give constant shit to.

"Oh, since you're only half working, you can only have half a tea break"
"Dude, just call armless. She can count half the pickup for you"
"No, you can't have an assistant from grocery. You are only allowed HALF of one"

He's so lame.

To SSM: Since you've got half a person less rostered on, you can roster on one half more.

Then he'll respond with the suggestion of half my wages.

He's the sort of manager thats been to every store in our area, and is hated by every staff member he's worked with. And for the same reasons, consistently.
What reasons? The fact that he's 'lame', as you describe him?
