*sigh* nothing interesting really. Vital stats:

Area of residence--North Shore
Ethnicity--Asian
Gender--Female

I think the phrase North Shore says everything that needs to be said.

I mostly prefer to go out with people, but I have some interests/tastes that the majority of my close friends don't share (mostly theatre and films) so I'm happy to go do that stuff alone if I have to. Obviously we have some stuff in common or we wouldn't be friends, but I'll still go see movies and do stuff I'm not that interested in with them because

a) you never know it might turn out to be good/fun
b) even if it's shit I'm there to hang out with my friends and have fun with them, not be blown away by the cinematic genius that is the Twilight movie or be thrilled by hours of shoe shopping.

Also I go shopping and to libraries and stuff by myself all the time, I don't get people who won't do this. My little sister will not even catch the bus alone, anywhere. She's 17 btw so I find it weird. She's well old enough to transport herself around the joint and do her shit but she'll either wait til I can drive her and come with, or arrange an expedition with all her friends

your sister sounds like easy prey for me muhaha

Of course she has, hasn't everyone. Gosh, if you haven't done this you must be so sheltered.
Not to be a downer, but not everyone is so privilged finnacilly to visit the world.

Sorry :( but..............I do have a Packer story for you :D One of my colleagues at work used to work at a liquor store in Palm Beach (this is going back at least 25 years). The store had a delivery service, which obviously the famous residents made good use of. She and another colleague were delivering 2 lots of champagne. The recipients were none other than the Packers themselves. The Packer house had 2 entrances--one normal one, another with an inclinator. They decided they'd go to the normal looking one, and were answered by none other than (old) Mrs Packer herself. Being so used to having everything done for her (obviously), she didn't know where the champagne was to be deposited. Luckily the butler arrived and was able to direct them to........the front entrance. Yep. The one with the inclinator. So, they had to drive all the way around, and then, in front of all the neighbours' curious eyes, load the 2 boxes of champagne onto the inclinator which then was sent up.

That's all. We all had a bit of a chuckle after that.

Yeah, I went to a concert alone (made friends with the people standing next to me), shop alone and go to movies alone too.
I like it, particularly when going to the movies-- I can just sit and watch without anyone having to make a comment that I need to reply to.

Actually, it's more I thought she posted something about travelling once.

And I don't think it's snooty, I worked my arse off to get overseas, I have no respect for those who aren't interested in the world outside of Australia.

Why on earth wouldn't someone go if they had the chance???
Why not?

I'm not fussed about travel. I'll probably end up traveling eventually, but I'll never plan on it.

There are places I'd like to see, but like I said, I am not fussed about going anywhere.

well most of the time i shop by myself.. its easier that way.. coz i can go at my pace and spend as much time as i want in a shop. shoping with other people can be fun to get an opinion.. but u feel the need not to take too long, before they nag.

i went to the movies bymyself once... and never again. made it boring being on my own.

i go to hairdressers on my own. its pretty boring as hell.

hmm im tempted to go out by myself one night.. but thats wen i get my freaken licence. gd

Because I think it's important to expand your horizons if you're able to.

How can you have so little interest?

This was one of the reasons an old friend and I stopped talking, he had no inclination to let Australia. Leave Sydney for that matter.

I'm just not bothered.

I'm not that bad that I don't want to leave my city/town though lol. I've just never felt the need to leave the country. I'd do it if the opportunity arose, but it hasn't and won't any time soon.

I'll probably eventually go abroad, but it won't be because I've planned and saved forever to do it.

I may add that I'm very well cultured and have a better view of the world than a lot of people I know that have gone overseas (as in knowing more about cultures etc. than they do... Even when they went to that country).

I just don't understand that. Like, I know everyone isn't as eager to see the world as I am, but it just seems kind of closed minded. Like you're not interested in how other people live.

I don't know.

It's not that I'm not interested.

I can't say anything other than I don't have the need to find out. I don't have the need to travel. If it happens, it happens if it doesn't... Meh.
