The best time is before uni starts, the first week of uni has crazy queues! You can leave it two weeks into semester, but you'll fall behind on readings. If you can get second hand books, even better! Textbook Exchange - Welcome to Australia's largest second hand textbook site

If you're talking about the student ID card, you'll need to get it as soon as possible for travel consessions (especially when catching UWS shuttle buses), borrowing books, printing and to prove who you are on campus if you're asked by security.

I've already got mine. They squashed my head (usual story with Student ids) and I look like a cross between an oompaloompa and the Crazy Frog. My library login doesn't work just yet. Giving it until Tuesday.

Mine's two years old, so either I get it replaced next year if I'm still at UWS, or I "lose" it and pay to get it replaced...prob not the latter though.

Just go to the student centre on campus, take some photo ID and something with your student number on it. Should only take 5 minutes. If you want the transport discount you have to fill out a form. You can get one online or at the student centre.

Go to your student centre with your student ID number and proof of ID, like a drivers licence.

Step 7 Get your student ID card | University of Western Sydney (UWS)

You can search by course code (the six digit number) at the bookshop website otherwise it will be in the unit outline.

Yeah, every student should receive a copy of the unit outline at the start of their tutes, and if you're lucky enough, your tutors may dish our learning guides too. Hurray! :)

Yep. Might even be one on line. I was having a look at last years one a few weeks ago just to get an idea.

The learning guide outlines the unit policies, assessments and all of the things you'll have to learn throughout the semester. It may also contain practice exam and tutorial questions, and would typically include a detailed explanation on the grading criteria.
